Heath is a native Portlander who has built stories for more than 10 years working with photography, video + visual media. He thrives on new environments + challenges + has been fortunate enough to travel from the Rockies to New Zealand, Japan to Ecuador and the Alps to tiny little towns up + down the West Coast.
His background is a bit spotty + includes a 57km ultra marathon, detention in Vietnam, the summit of Mt Blanc, leeches, years of Japanese language, a bionic knee + more than a decade of experience as a creative professional. He has presented at the Art Institute of Portland + the SI Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, taught at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography + helped jumpstart the design/fabrication firm Ruphus.
His visual media work has been recognized by the likes of PDN, ASMP + HOW magazine. Clients include 24 Hour Fitness, Audi, Buick, LIFE magazine, Men's Journal, Microsoft, Nike, Outside, Patagonia, the USPS, + Toyota among others.
Outside of visual media he pursues industrial design, specifically furniture + architecture, with a fervor. Currently he is designing + rebuilding his 1905 house with his family fabricating as much as possible himself.
